Turkey Day!

Posted by RippinHeads on November 26, 2008

Is everyone ready for Turkey tomorrow? I thought I would jump off the Halo train today and mix things up a bit for the 4 day weekend. I was thinking maybe I would share a childhood story that always took place on Thanksgiving Day. (pretty much everyday) =)

Has everyone seen that old “Stouffer’s Stove Top Stuffing” commercial? If not then I will give you the overview. Basically the commercial has 2 young boys in it; they love “Stouffer’s Stove Top”. The commercial starts with the 2 young boys planning there dinner and how they are going to manage getting 2 servings of Stouffer’s. Needless to say they pull it off and get to eat Stouffer’s at both their parents’ houses for dinner. Pretty Slick Huh?

Let me just say that commercial has been stuck in my head my entire life. From age 7 up to 20 which was when I got married and bought my own home.

My best friend from childhood only lived about ¼ of a mile from my Mom’s house. Every night was a Stouffer’s Night! I’m not sure if either of our families ever really figured out what we were doing but that’s ok.

Normally around 4pm everyday we would get together at my Mom’s house first. We would ask my Mom what she was having for dinner and then we would call my best friends Mom to see what she was having. We would then decide which Meal was better and of course eat a lot more of that one. The kicker here is that every Thanksgiving we would eat at both of our parent’s houses and ALL of the food was good. Needless to say we were stuffed like Turkey’s every Year.

Please feel free to leave a comment sharing your “Turkey Day” stories. Due to the fact that I will be stuffing my face and playing tons of Halo this Holiday weekend I will not be back with a fresh Blog until Monday morning. (much like bungie)

NOTE: The Q & A Page is now up and running. Registered users may ask questions and I will try and snswer them in a timely manner. =)

Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

100k Ranked Kills FTW!

Posted by RippinHeads on November 25, 2008

As the Title Reads, I hit a Huge Milestone last Night while playing Lone Wolves… 100,000 Ranked Kills! It took me almost 11 months to hit that mark but it was worth it. I believe that My Social Kills are currently right around 93,000 mark to, so I’m guessing I will hit that 100,000 Kills mark in the near future while Playing DLC FFA. Very Exciting Stuff! =)

Now for Today’s Goodies… I added a cool little “Avatar Generator” that firestream over at HaloCharts.com told me about. It’s listed in the “Links” section. You can type in the Gamertag of the Player you would like to see and Bam! You have their Avatar. Cool!

I added the “Q & A” page. This page will allow registered users to come and post questions. I will try and respond to them in a timely manner. The main reason that I created this website was so that Players of all Ages/Skills could come and learn more about Halo 3 & RippinHeads… whether its FFA Tips/Daily Playing Habits or maybe you’re just wonder what I am up to that day.

“If I worked at Bungie for a Day”

Posted by RippinHeads on November 24, 2008

Happy Monday Everyone!

I Hope that everyone had a Nice Eventful weekend like I did. I managed to get My Rumble Pit General and get back to playing some Lone Wolves last Night. Good Times!

I also stopped by the B.Net forums last Night just in time to read 8 Pages of Hate mail towards RippinHeads and HaloCharts.com which was followed by this Post from FoMan(Master Forum Ninja) =)

FoMan writes:

“RippinHeads plays only for a few hours a day, after his kids go to bed and after he has spent some time with his wife. He is just very methodical in the way he plays and he’s extremely good at the game.

He is one cool, mature dude, and if you ever played with him, you would know that. Do not judge people based on numbers on a website.

OP and all flamers in this topic get a 30-day ban for flaming an individual user of this website, and the rest of you are warned that topics about individual users are highly inappropriate here.”

Thanks FoMan for stepping in…

Moving on to the Title of this Blog… Bryan Simon released another Great Song today so I thought I would throw the Lyrics and a Link up for your reading and listening pleasure. I think you might recognize one of the Players mentioned in the song. I had No Idea he was doing that. Crazy!

Thanks Bryan!

“If I worked at Bungie for a Day”

If I worked at Bungie for a day
I’d bring my guitar to work
So Marty and I could play
I’d move the action figures in the hall
Webcam #2 shows them always just staring at the wall

I’d organize a company disco dance
and while people were hustling
I’d stuff into my pants a copy of the Recon Beta disk
I’d rush home after 5:00 and get the achievements

Oh life would be so great. Life would be just great
if I worked at Bungie for a day

If I worked at Bungie for a day
I’d ask Shishka 10 questions
Just to see what he would say
Like Shishka could you please jump rope with me
Would it change your mind if I prefaced it
With a pretty please?

I would unlock Recon for RippinHeads
Cause he’s #1 in the world
and then maybe we could be friends
I’d reply to all posts on Bungie forums
Paste links for Rick Rolls
In messages rather than ignore them

Life would be so great
Life would be so great
if I worked at Bungie for a day

I’d play pranks on Jonny O
Michael Zak and Sam Jones
Wait for Achronos to go into the bathroom
Put some tape across the door
Hide behind the corner
If he walks into it I’ll be filled with laughter
Oh no, here comes Gerome with the ban hammer!

T.G.I.F.

Posted by RippinHeads on November 21, 2008

It’s Friday! First let me just say that I added a “Profile” Link under the “Meta” section that will take you directly to your Dashboard where you can update your Personal Information. I had a few User’s message me saying that they were having problems changing the automated password that you get upon registration.

Next I have to say that IM READY TO RUMLBE! I got My Brigadier in Rumble Pit last Night and I plan on trying to get My General by tomorrow Night. (hopefully). Does anyone else here Love the Variety of Game Types that you get in Rumble Pit? I.E. Juggernaut/Ninja Ball/Mosh Pit…

I think my favorite is Ninja Ball on Snowbound. If you Grab Invisibility and then the Ball you are Basically Impossible to kill unless someone is Insanely Good with the Laser. The Lack of Auto Aim when the Ball Guy has Invis. makes it extremely frustrating to kill him, especially when you are in 4th place and your about to lose.  =P

Mosh Pit is Also Fun/Frustrating. I enjoy it because Your Shield regenerates really fast but at the same time after you melee someone twice you kind of expect them to die! The best was on Guardian… I was playing mosh pit and my friend Bubba was in the Hill. I jumped in with Shotgun and Shot Him point Blank and followed with a melee. NO KILL!

Juggernaut on the other hand is a Beast all in its self… First I have to point out the fact that I get booted more often from Juggernaut Games than ANYONE in the Halo 3! The Problem is that every time I am the Juggernaut and I’m about to Die I start chucking Nades at the Players that are chasing Me(Habit from Lone Wolves). So basically as soon as I die what would have been a kill from the grave is now a “You Betrayed So and So!” Ha-Ha  Other than that I enjoy Juggernaut. Here is a game from last night where I pulled off an Overkill with No Shield and 2 Sticky Grenades FTW! Oh No… Rippin’s the Jug!

Have a Nice Weekend!! =)
